Four Mile Scare – Benefit For Kayla Armstrong
In October of 2007, Kayla Armstrong was found to have a cancerous tumor in her brain. For the next 18 months Kayla was in and out of the hospital for surgery and treatments, spending over 300 days in the hospital. After many months of tiring medical routines and hospital stays, she emerged from the holds of the doctors, victorious.
Kayla spent the coming months monitoring her progress to ensure that the tumor did not return. After two years of clean MRI’s, Kayla was finally declared cancer free.
This year, on August 19, Kayla had a seizure. She was rushed to the hospital where a CAT scan showed that a new tumor of the same type was again in Kayla’s brain. This time, the tumor was found to be inoperable. Once again, Kayla and her family found themselves seeking the support of doctors. When this type of tumor reappears, treatment is much more difficult. As such, Kayla and her family face a much tougher fight this time around.
Kayla, like her family, is a haunted house nut! And in any case like Kayla’s, the financial hardship can be as difficult as the actual battle. Mike, Kayla’s father and Von, a family friend, were in the planning and pre building phase of Von’s annual home haunt when they decided to hold a benefit for Kayla through the haunt. The haunts proceeds go directly to Kayla and will help pay for medical assistance, treatment and any other needs she may have. What better way to help raise donations for her cause, than by the creation of this season’s hottest destination, Four Mile Scare Home Haunt?
Open for Halloween Night only, the haunted house benefit for Kayla Armstrong will be open and ready to scare from 6 to 10p.m. 5-6pm is for the younger kids. Every dollar, dime and penny raised on Halloween Night will go toward the tremendous expenses Kayla, now just 15 years old, and her family face. That’s 100% of proceeds!
